Tell us about Kadai? A firebowl and barbeque in one! With an extensive range of award winning accessories and outdoor living products.
What can you tell us about the background to Kadai? The idea was born from a visit to Rajasthan, India by Christo the owner of the business in 2004. Using ceremonial cooking pots in our first award winning Chelsea Flower Show as planters and water features. Inspired in 2005 to change the use into a fire bowl and barbeque, placing a filter hole in the base and grill in the natural curvature of the bowl.
What is special about Kadai? Practicality of having a manoeuvrable barbeque and firebowl in one, aesthetically beautiful and a 5 year warranty, that you can leave out year round.
What inspired you to partner with Ludlow Food Festival and sponsor the Fire Stage? To support a local festival, improve our footfall to flagship store at Church Stretton.
What will people discover when they visit Kadai at the Festival? Food, fire, fun – great festival offers, marshmallows and mulled wine for all!
What are you looking forward to most about Ludlow Food Festival? People’s reaction to the Fire stage theatre created by the chefs, team and Kadai Staff.
Do you have a favourite memory of Kadai at the Food Festival? What fun was had at The Fire & Feast last year, warmth from the lit Kadai in such an amazing setting at the castle, smells of food and very talented people all around delivering mouth-watering food.
Do you have a favourite Kadai recipe you could share with us? Roasted leg of lamb – dirty seared in the coals and hung for 3 hours on the tripod hook – delicious! Dirty onions and skillet cooked gratin potatoes for rich flame cooked delights.
Do you have a favourite Kadai product? What is special about this? On the Kadai Fire Stage this year top chefs including DJ BBQ, Sam Evans will be cooking up amazing dishes on the Kadai’s brand new Tripod Pulley System. Inspired by world Famous barbecue chef, Francis Mallmann, this impressive kit allows you to use all the heat in your fire to cook a wide variety of dishes.
